Fabricator/Welder
Location: Manchester Airport
Schedule 4 on and 4 off shift pattern
Reporting to: Workshop Manager
Salary: £35,665.00 per annum

Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair non-motorised GSE, ensuring all work meets manufacturer and regulatory standards
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to recognised industry standards
- Carry out routine servicing, refurbishment, and minor bodywork/branding repairs
- Ensure safe working practices, especially when handling hazardous substances
- Keep accurate maintenance records using our computer-based fleet management system
- Support workshop cleanliness and report defects promptly
- Provide cover at other Swissport fleet workshops when needed
- Share knowledge and support the development of colleagues
- Participate in training and development to maintain professional standards
Qualifications
- Recognised welding/fabrication qualification or equivalent
- Technical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 2 or similar
- Solid mechanical engineering experience
- Proficiency in basic engineering, sheet metalwork, and use of workshop tools
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling up to 25kg
- Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel for training or support at other stations
