The Role

Responsibilities

As a Family Help Lead Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating the delivery of family help services to children and families in West Berkshire. Reporting to the Assistant Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of Family Help Practitioners to ensure the effective delivery of family help interventions
• Working directly with children and families to assess their needs and provide appropriate support
• Conducting regular reviews and evaluations of progress, ensuring positive outcomes are achieved
• Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery
• Providing guidance and supervision to less experienced practitioners, fostering their professional development

Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through participation in quality assurance activities

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Experience working within a family help or early intervention setting, with a sound understanding of the needs of children and families
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding practices
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
• A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
