EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Feasibility Specialist, you’ll act as the technical expert on the civils side of our Waste Network Operations, working closely with our Deep Drainage Operatives and Feasibility Project Managers. This role is based at our
Barhurst site in Wolverhampton, and given its critical importance, we’re looking for someone to join us on a full-time basis (37 hours per week).
This role is pivotal in resolving complex issues that go beyond day-to-day maintenance. You’ll handle escalations from field operatives and respond to urgent challenges raised by stakeholders—such as major asset failures, leaks, or infrastructure concerns requiring immediate attention.
Your responsibility will be to assess the situation, determine the most effective solution, and plan the necessary works to ensure network integrity and service continuity. Acting as the go-to authority for feasibility assessments and surveys, you’ll combine technical knowledge with problem-solving skills to deliver safe, cost-effective, and sustainable outcomes.
WHAT WE'ER LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who has the Operational and Technical knowledge of Waste Networks and Civils who can transfer concepts into buildable solutions. You will be feeding your ideas directly into the feasibility project managers and the operative teams. So, you’ll need the below core skills:
- Civil Engineering Expertise: Strong understanding of civils infrastructure within waste network operations.
- Feasibility Assessment: Ability to evaluate technical challenges and determine practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Proactive Approach: Anticipates potential risks and mitigates them before escalation.
- Asset Management Knowledge: Familiarity with major asset failures, leaks, and structural integrity issues.
- Planning & Design: Competence in planning remedial works and ensuring compliance with safety and sustainability standards.
- Decision-Making Under Pressure: Ability to make sound judgements in urgent situations.
- Clear Communication: Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with field operatives, contractors, and internal teams.
- Escalation Handling: Manage and resolve high-priority issues raised by stakeholders.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome and celebrate diverse individuals, knowing they help us better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
