The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused
Field-Based Property Assistant to join our Property & Residential Services team within the Accommodation, Catering and Events department. This mobile, operational role supports the day-to-day management and upkeep of a diverse portfolio of student accommodation properties across multiple properties.
In this key support role, you will work alongside a team of Accommodation Managers to deliver high-quality property services for over 800 students. You’ll be responsible for conducting on-site inspections, identifying and reporting repairs, liaising with contractors, and ensuring properties are maintained to high standards. You'll also be the first point of contact on-site when managers are unavailable—assisting students, tradespeople and landlords.
This is a field-based role that requires excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently while remaining connected to a wider operational team. You will support key activities throughout the year, including student arrivals and departures, viewings, inventories and planned maintenance coordination.
As a valued member of the team, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the student experience, maintaining safe and comfortable living spaces, and ensuring the smooth operation of our residential estate.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, a full clean driving licence is essential. Occasional weekend or evening working may be required during peak operational periods (e.g., arrivals weekend or end-of-tenancy inspections).
Your Skills And Attributes For Success
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first approach.
- Proven ability to work independently in the field, managing tasks across multiple locations.
- Experience in property, housing, or facilities management.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile technology.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, cyclical environment.
- Practical problem-solving skills with a focus on responsiveness and service quality.
- Clean driving licence and willingness to travel daily between sites.
