CSL Vifor is a global leader in nephrology, iron deficiency, and cardio-renal therapies. As we continue to expand rapidly through the advancement and optimization of our pipeline, we are looking to strengthen our UK Medical Affairs team with the addition of a Field Medical Advisor (FMA). This role will focus mainly on supporting our plans in ANCA-associated vasculitis and IgA nephropathy.
This role covers approximately one-third of the UK, including the North East, North West of England, and Scotland. The FMA plays a critical role in representing Medical Affairs externally, building and maintaining strong scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Health Care Professionals (HCPs), and key accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and professional organizations.
- Act as a trusted medical resource, collaborating with commercial, marketing, market access, and medical teams to ensure delivery of our plans.
- Represent CSL Vifor at scientific meetings, congresses and professional groups.
- Provide medical input into the development and review of promotional and non-promotional materials and strategies, ensuring ABPI compliance.
- Deliver disease education and clinical data to HCPs and respond to medical information requests.
- Facilitate scientific engagement and exchange with KOLs and support real-world evidence (RWE) initiatives.
- Support and execute medical activities such as advisory boards, symposia, hospital meetings, and speaker programs.
- Provide internal medical training, including for the sales team.
- Contribute to company-sponsored clinical research and support investigator-initiated studies (IIS).
- Monitor scientific and clinical developments in nephrology and rheumatology through literature, media, and conferences.
- Ensure all activities and insights are captured in internal systems, plans and comply with internal regulations, and company policies.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in a medical or life sciences field (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or similar role.
- Proven experience in KOL engagement and development of medical engagement and cross-functional integrated account plans.
- Strong cross functional work ethics, communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in literature review, medical training delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proactive, self-driven, and externally focused.
- Based in the North of the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate (PhD, PharmD) or Master’s degree in a relevant medical field.
- Clinical and/or research experience in nephrology and rheumatology.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience (local, regional or national).
- 3+ years in a field medical or MSL role.
- Demonstrated success in scientific engagement and medical strategy execution.
