Job Title: Field Performance Manager- Mechanical and Electrical

Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum depending on experience plus business needs car
We are currently recruiting for a Field Performance Manager- Mechanical & Electrical to be responsible and accountable for the performance and effectiveness of a team of highly skilled mechanics and electricians within the Hampshire area. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the team are maintaining assets (both planned and reactively) to optimise operational performance, following all policies and procedures to remain safe, compliant and cost effective.

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager within the Water Resource & Production function, you will be managing around 14x Mechanical and electrical technicians reporting to you directly and responsible for managing budget up to £800K per year. As a strong leader you will be driving team performance and focussing on performance improvement and efficiency, therefore the priorities will be 60% leadership and 40% involves M&E operational management and resolving technical operational issues.
After completing your training, you will be part of our Field Event Coordinator rota with a requirement to cover 1 in 6 standby, additional bonus will be paid which is an added advantage!
Your Key Accountabilities Will Include
- To build, lead and direct a competent and effective team to deliver compliance, service levels and serviceability targets
- To integrate asset processes into Water to ensure consistency to asset issues, drive data quality improvements and inform investment
- To drive team and individual performance in terms of productivity, utilisation, device compliance and quality
- To undertake high level monitoring of operational performance and to take action to resolve as necessary.
- To liaise with external contractors on works affecting site(s) and supporting with managing them where required
- To ensure safety processes and procedures are followed within the operational area and ensure that the team
- comply with the requirements of Health and Safety as set out by Southern Water
- To coach, mentor, develop and performance manage the team with a key focus on employee engagement to deliver
- compliance at least cost.
- To deal with external regulatory bodies and represent the company to the media as required
- To manage events and incidents in own team/operational area in and out-of-hours as required.
To be successful in this role, you will be a strong leader with a good understanding of all operational processes and how they link end-to-end with good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical disciplines. It will be highly desirable for you to have NVQ Level 3, and BTECH Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualification. With your proactive nature and being a self-starter, you will be passionate in driving your team to be high performers keen to make a difference to our customers and environment in this highly rewarding role.
