The Role
We are seeking a diligent and driven individual with a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset to enhance our team. This position is within the Business Partnering team, focusing on capital expenditure reporting and analysis, including cash flow forecasting, as well as contributing to our capital expenditure business plan.
You will collaborate closely with the FP&A team while also engaging with various departments across the business, most notably the Property, Interiors and Maintenance teams. Your role will include ensuring robust and considered forecasts and demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to create clear and thoughtful models and outputs.
This role aims to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of the team's key capex outputs, ultimately supporting improved performance from the function. We are therefore looking for a self-starter who strives to produce high quality output and meaningful improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly delivery of a robust and well understood capex reforecast for internal and external stakeholder review
- Continuous improvement of the group consolidated capex forecast / budget model and outputs, to provide clear and accurate forward looking capital expenditure cashflow reporting across all areas including development, refurbishment, maintenance and customer-related capex.
- Partnering with the Property, Maintenance, Interiors and Technology team to develop accurate forecasts, and independent oversight of expenditure
- Undertake a detailed review of historic capital expenditure actuals reporting, partnering with the Management Accounts team to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Involvement in the annual budget cycle, focusing on considered capex budgeting
- Develop and provide reporting and analysis to the leadership team and broader investor group, with ad hoc analysis and presentations related to capital expenditure
- Support the FP&A function to reforecast and business plan throguh timely delivery of reforecast information
- Driving process improvements to gain working efficiencies and improve accuracy of outputs, including project processes and approval matrix in SAP
- Supporting the Reporting team with fixed asset register reconcilation and maintenance, including SAP project governenace
- Investigate and respond to ad hoc capital expenditure related queries as required
Requirements
- Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating excel models using multiple data sets
- Experience analysing large data sets and drawing conclusions by combining financial and non-financial data
- Ability to create clear, meaningful outputs
- Experience of capex forecasting
- Educated to degree level with 2~1 or higher
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Proficient user of MS Excel
- Highly Organised with a keen eye for detail
- SAP By-Design, desired
- Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
- Confident juggling several demands from different people
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
- Strong organisation and timekeeping skills
- Calm under pressure with a positive attitude
- Positive, open and approachable personality
- Team player who is highly collaborative and can work with different departments
- Able to take initiative when working independently
