Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

The Cambridge Research Office is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Research Office on a temporary contract. This is a finance administration role providing support for departments in the management of their research grants.

Our team is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance and for financially administering external research funding, on behalf of academics and Departments within the University's Schools.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration. Your main responsibilities will be providing procedural and financial advice and guidance to academic and departmental staff on a range of financial administration matters.

Key tasks include the preparation of final expenditure reports, setting up new awards, preparing invoices and monitoring research grant budgets against expenditure. You will demonstrate excellent numeracy, strong organisational skills, a highly collaborative and inquisitive mindset, and a positive, customer-oriented approach.

The role holder will be part of a diverse team, working within a busy office environment, so you must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential. Knowledge of Oracle Financials and experience in finance administration would be adv
antageous.

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This role requires onsite attendance at Greenwich House for a minimum of 2 days per week with additional onsite working according to business need.
