We’re looking for a motivated and organised Finance Assistant to join our friendly, professional Central Services Finance Team in Cambridge.

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our central financial operations running efficiently and accurately. Working closely with colleagues across the Cambridge family of schools and colleges, you’ll help ensure our financial processes are robust, compliant, and responsive - enabling our settings and teams to focus on delivering exceptional education.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems, and people, and who takes pride in getting the details right.

Responsibilities:

Processing purchase orders, invoices, and payments with accuracy and efficiency
Supporting monthly reconciliations and assisting with financial reporting
Maintaining clear, accurate financial records and databases

Helping monitor budgets and responding to queries from departments

Assisting with audits and year-end processes

Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Have excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
Are confident using Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
Enjoy working as part of a team and can manage deadlines in a busy environment
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues at all levels
Have previous experience in a finance or accounts role

(Experience in education or a multi-site organisation is a bonus, but not essential)
