Finance Assistant

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join an established team and organisation within the FMCG industry. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to support accounting and finance operations efficiently.

Description

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Process invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with company policies.
• Process supplier invoices and credits to the accounting system
• Generate a weekly payment run for all suppliers (including foreign currency)
• Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation registering new suppliers
• Perform purchase ledger reconciliations between supplier accounts and statements

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

• A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Good understanding of VAT (including reverse charges) (essential)
• Accustomed to working with and interpreting data (essential)
• IT skills - highly proficient with Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and accounting packages. (essential)
• Confidence and experience in working with Business Central (Desirable)
• Experience of the fruit or fresh produce industry (desirable)
