Finance Business Partner - Financial Services - London - Hybrid-working - up to £70,000

A leading Financial Technology business is hiring for a Finance Business Partner to work closely with the Tech leadership team in a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of finance and strategy. This position offers the chance to drive financial excellence across a critical tech division within a global financial services group.

You'll be the go to person for technology operations, providing the insights and analysis that shape major investment decisions, strategy and operational efficiency.

The Role

As a Finance Business Partner you'll own the complete financial picture for the Technology function. Responsibilities include:

Financial Stewardship: Maintain comprehensive oversight of technology expenditure, identifying cost optimization opportunities and explaining variances that matter
Strategic Planning: Lead the annual technology budget cycle, coordinating across finance and technology stakeholders to deliver timelines and targets
Governance & Control: Evaluate technology spending requests across transformation projects and business-as-usual operations, ensuring proper approvals and budget alignment
Executive Support: Prepare leadership decision-making forums, including meeting preparation, agenda management, and documentation
Business Partnering: Collaborate with finance colleagues on monthly performance reviews and KPI reporting for leadership consumption
Analytics & Insight: Transform raw data into actionable intelligence through rigorous analysis and reporting.

Requirements:

Essential:

Expert-level Excel capability (complex modelling, financial functions, data manipulation)
Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and financial management practices
Experience with procurement processes and vendor management frameworks
A forensic eye for detail – you naturally spot anomalies in numbers and data
Polished communication skills that work across technical and financial audiences
Recognized financial qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or equivalent)
