Vacancy Details
Duration: Fixed term of 6 months with the potential to extend or go permanent. (Please note, secondments are subject to line manager approval, please discuss this with them before applying).
Location: This role is based in Milton Keynes. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant: MK, you must live within 90 minutes.
Band & Salary: Band 4C £43,588 - £50,018.
Brief Description
The team operates with two core outputs running concurrently:
- periodic scorecard reporting every four weeks
- and the development of the next year’s scorecard (spanning June to May annually).
About The Role (External)
About the team...
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the several teams across the business, under the guidance of the Head of Financial Control and Analysis or Senior Finance Business Partner. Your role will involve providing proactive, value-added financial support to business leaders across the function or route, ensuring strategic and operational decisions are informed by sound financial insights.
What does the average day look like?
A typical day involves business partnering with stakeholders across regions and functions, analysing large datasets with the ability to summarise findings quickly and accurately. The role also includes insight gathering for input to executive level reporting, and proactively identifying areas for improvement to simplify processes and enhance outcomes for both the team and our stakeholders. Flexibility is also key, as workload and priorities can shift rapidly.

Are you a Finance professional looking to do something a little bit different?
Network Rail are looking for a Finance Business Partner based out of the Milton Keynes office within the Group Finance Analysis & Reporting Team to provide excellent stakeholder engagement, insight gathering and analysis for our scorecard reporting and scorecard development processes. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential.
Essential Criteria
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with expertise in data analysis and manipulation.
- Ability to analyse large datasets accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
- Be proactive with ability to multi-task
Desirable Criteria
- Familiarity with Power BI and other advanced analysis tools.
- Knowledge of project management principles and experience managing complex projects.
