About the role
Nexus is seeking to hire a technically skilled and self-motivated Finance Business Partner to provide accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role will play a crucial role in supporting management and senior leadership in commercial decision making, by providing up to date financial information, KPIs and dashboards.
Responsibilities:
Financial planning
- Support unit heads in the preparation and delivery of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Ensure ongoing tracking and variance analysis against budgets and provide commentary.
Financial reporting & analysis
- Collaborate with MDs and the finance department to ensure the timely preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Provide detailed month-end reports and commentary for senior management.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, streamlined reporting and business process efficiency to enable business management to lead their teams and drive strategy more effectively.
- Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations and various financial reports to Executives, MDs and underwriting teams covering financial performance and future planning.
Performance and cost management
- Develop dashboard reporting and key performance indicators to evaluate underwriting and financial performance.
- Ensure that cost-saving initiatives are accurately measured and aligned with revenue improvement initiatives.
Operations
- Attend Exec, Board, & ad hoc meetings with the business as required.
- Key contact between the business units and the Finance team.
- Assist with the year end audit where required
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant with 3+ PQE in the insurance industry
Skills
- Proficient Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
Knowledge:
- Practical hands-on experience in the insurance industry, working in a reputable MGA, brokerage or for a carrier/insurer
- Previous experience of financial planning and analysis
