Finance Business Partner

Nexus is seeking to hire a technically skilled and self-motivated Finance Business Partner to provide accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role will play a crucial role in supporting management and senior leadership in commercial decision making, by providing up to date financial information, KPIs and dashboards.

Responsibilities:

Financial planning

• Support unit heads in the preparation and delivery of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Ensure ongoing tracking and variance analysis against budgets and provide commentary.

Financial reporting & analysis

• Collaborate with MDs and the finance department to ensure the timely preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Provide detailed month-end reports and commentary for senior management.
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, streamlined reporting and business process efficiency to enable business management to lead their teams and drive strategy more effectively.
• Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations and various financial reports to Executives, MDs and underwriting teams covering financial performance and future planning.

Performance and cost management

• Develop dashboard reporting and key performance indicators to evaluate underwriting and financial performance.
• Ensure that cost-saving initiatives are accurately measured and aligned with revenue improvement initiatives.

Operations

• Attend Exec, Board, & ad hoc meetings with the business as required.
• Key contact between the business units and the Finance team.
• Assist with the year end audit where required

Qualifications:

• Qualified Accountant with 3+ PQE in the insurance industry

Skills

• Proficient Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
• Strong people skills with the ability to engage with different departments

Knowledge:

• Practical hands-on experience in the insurance industry, working in a reputable MGA, brokerage or for a carrier/insurer
• Previous experience of financial planning and analysis
