This role will business partner with our Workplace team.
Location:
The role is based in London, Victoria. The role offers hybrid working, with majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager to find the best fit for both you and the role.
What you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic planning and decision support to the Head of Workplace, delivering financial insights to guide long terms goals and strategies focusing on leasing (including referencing to external benchmarks), whilst providing robust challenge and influencing the delivery of their financial KPI’s.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for Workplace’s leasing across the portfolio (including commercialisation income from Piccadilly Lights), ensuring that submissions reflect challenging but realistic forecasts with key assumptions benchmarked against internal/ external best practice and supplemented with “what if” scenarios and potential risks, opportunities and trade-off’s clearly defined and communicated.
- Work in partnership with the Commercial Performance & Planning team, introducing and developing forward looking executive reports applicable to Workplace’s leasing, with insightful analysis, metrics and exception reports which support the Exco in making informed decisions and identify opportunities to drive improved financial performance.
- Act as the primary strategic partner to the business leads, developing action plans on monthly results to drive improved financial performance and introducing clear and concise options for the business on driving NRI through improved leasing.
- Clear focus on driving commercial performance for leasing and commercialisation income across the portfolio, proactively challenging the team to deliver improved results with a relentless drive for continuous improvement both for the business and personal performance.
- Ensure compliance and robust controls environment is in place and that approval processes are adhered to by the BU.
- Support the delivery of bi-annual external reporting deliverables (including valuations), providing insightful commentary and reviewing accuracy of information.
- Review and approve JV reporting where relevant to ensure that reports are accurate and meet the contractual obligations of our joint venture partnership.
- Primary financial lead for leasing across the portfolio, challenging the business to drive better returns through improved insight from standardisation of lease approval outputs (e.g. lease appraisals).
- Support Commercial Performance & Planning team to ensure accuracy of data sources, reviewing outputs of both financial and non-financial (e.g. tenancy schedules) data and ensuring accountability from relevant business owners for updating where corrections are required.
- Support the development of the Commercial Performance & Planning team, ensuring they are building their commercial acumen and focusing them on providing insight against the key deliverables within the business unit, whilst providing open and honest feedback to help improve their effectiveness.
Your skills, experience and qualifications:
Essential criteria
- Fully Qualified Accountant PQE (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Previous business partnering experience with demonstratable examples of outputs driving improvements & performance in a business
- Strong commercial acumen
- Budgeting and Forecasting experience
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management
