Macphie Ltd is seeking a dedicated and strategic Finance Controller for a 6-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations. You will lead the finance team while also collaborating with various departments to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
Your experience in the food manufacturing industry will be crucial in navigating the complexities of our operations and driving financial performance. As a finance leader, you will provide insights that inform strategic decisions and contribute to the overall success of our business.

Responsibilities
- Manage the finance team and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee month-end closing processes, preparing financial statements and reports.
- Develop and implement effective financial policies and controls.
- Collaborate with senior management on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines.
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting best practices.
- Experience in managing finance teams and ensuring high performance.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Hold a valid full drivers license and have the ability to travel if required.
