Finance Director

Location: London (hybrid, approx. 3 days per week in office)

We are partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed international tech business seeking a Finance Director to lead their UK finance function during an exciting phase of transformation and growth.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment. Following a period of significant growth, the business is professionalising its control environment, reporting capabilities and strategic finance leadership. The Finance Director will play a key role in enabling further expansion while ensuring robust financial governance and effective business partnering across the organisation.

About The Position

You’ll report directly to the CFO and lead a talented finance team, providing strategic insight, implementing best-practice controls, and delivering timely, high-quality reporting to both UK leadership and the wider Group. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of delivering results in growing, acquisitive, and regulated environments, with excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the UK financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, providing actionable insight to the CFO and executive team.
• Oversee accurate and timely reporting under IFRS and UK regulatory standards, including monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance to support a more complex and scalable organisation.
• Drive efficiency and process improvement through automation, standardisation, and better use of technology.
• Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, development and continuous improvement.
• Act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, delivering clear, relevant financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
• Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, advisors, banks, and insurers.

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 10 years’ post-qualified experience.
• Strong track record as a senior finance leader in dynamic, fast-growing organisations, ideally including experience in both smaller entrepreneurial settings and larger, more regulated environments.
• Demonstrable expertise in improving reporting quality, accelerating timelines, enhancing controls, and embedding scalable processes.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, UK tax and regulatory compliance, and corporate finance principles.
• Experience working with private equity investors, in acquisitive businesses, or in IPO preparation is highly desirable.
• Skilled at communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders and influencing at board level.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Resilient, adaptable and collaborative, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong business acumen, risk-awareness, and commercial approach.
• Proficiency with financial management software.
