We are partnering exclusively with a high-growth, private equity-backed retail and ecommerce business headquartered in Northamptonshire to appoint a Finance Director with a global remit.

This is a rare and compelling opportunity for a commercially astute and strategically driven finance leader to join a business at the inflection point of significant international expansion.

Role Overview:

Sitting as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, this role offers an end-to-end mandate across the finance spectrum. Reporting into the Group CFO and working in close partnership with the Global CEO and the private equity operating partner, the Finance Director will be instrumental in shaping the financial architecture and operating model to support rapid and sustained international growth.

This is a truly hands-on and transformative role — ideal for a finance leader with the gravitas and commercial acumen to influence C-suite stakeholders, while also rolling up their sleeves to build, scale and optimise the finance function in a dynamic environment.

You’ll be involved in:

• Lead and evolve a high-performing international finance function covering FP&A, commercial finance, financial control, and operational finance.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Group CFO, Global CEO, and Board, providing insights and direction that drive value creation and global expansion.
• Establish and embed financial processes, systems, and controls that scale with growth and complexity.
• Own and lead the commercial planning cycle, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across regions.
• Support M&A activity, investment appraisal, and integration where appropriate.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the finance team and across the business.
• Act as the finance lead on strategic projects and transformation initiatives, working cross-functionally to align finance with broader business objectives.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a proven Finance Director (or comparable level) with the following credentials:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent (MBA)
• A career background within fast-paced, multinational consumer environments — retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable experience of leading a growing international finance function through periods of transformation or scale-up.
• Strong command of commercial finance, FP&A, and financial control disciplines.
• Previous exposure to private equity ownership or a highly commercial board environment.
• An exceptional communicator and influencer, comfortable navigating ambiguity and acting as a strategic sounding board to senior leadership.
• A high-energy, delivery-focused individual with the resilience and intellect to thrive in a PE-backed business scaling globally.

Location & Working Pattern:

• Based in Northamptonshire with a 2-day-a-week hybrid working policy.

Compensation:

• £160,000 base salary
• Executive car allowance
• Performance-related bonus (up to 40%)
• Ability to join LTI scheme in future
