Purpose of the scheme

The Finance Graduate Programme is a 3-year scheme designed to develop a well rounded finance, accounting and treasury professional by providing hands on experience in various finance teams as well as sponsoring the ACCA qualification to become a successful accountancy and finance specialist.

Graduate Scheme Structure

The programme is structured into several rotations, each focusing on different areas of finance, allowing you to develop your skills, contribute to the team, owning projects, driving results and gain a comprehensive understanding of the bank.

Data and Analytics (4 Months)

Immerse yourself in the world of data, where you will develop a strong foundation in data literacy and analytical skills. You will learn to interpret and analyse complex datasets using tools like SQL, Python, and Microsoft Power BI. Gain hands-on experience with financial data systems and platforms and explore advanced data techniques such as machine learning. Build comprehensive data domain knowledge and develop a network of trusted Data Subject Matter Experts.

Financial Control (8 Months)

Dive into the intricacies of financial control, where you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the balance sheet, accounting rules, and double-entry bookkeeping. Analyse financial data to understand the bank's financial health and observe how external and internal changes impact profit and loss. Assist in compiling annual audit reports and collaborate closely with regulatory teams, treasury, and operations.

Treasury (8 Months)

Step into the dynamic world of treasury, where you will price customer trades, manage currency positions, and monitor liquidity flows. Analyse counterparty, settlement, and interest rate risk, and participate in asset class analysis. Support Treasury Management System testing and gain valuable experience in treasury operations.

Regulatory Reporting (8 Months)

Become a key player in regulatory reporting, where you'll prepare and submit reports to regulators, monitor compliance, and reconcile data. Update regulatory reporting procedures and assist stakeholders with regulatory analysis and reporting needs. Ensure the company adheres to regulatory limits and internal policies.

Finance Business Partnering (8 Months)

Explore the interconnections between finance, strategy, and performance. Collaborate with various bank departments to enhance business performance through insightful reporting and analysis. Understand how the bank makes profit, price loans and deposits, and optimise capital and liquidity. This rotation offers a blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience in risk management and balance sheet trends.

• Qualification Sponsorship: ACCA qualification
• Induction Plan: Job shadowing and meetings with all departments.
• Buddy Scheme: Matched with a previous graduate or early talent colleague.
• Mentoring: Paired with a mentor for the duration of the programme.
• Skills Training: Development of business skills such as resilience, presentation skills, negotiation, and influencing.
• Personal Development Plan: Clear objectives and skills to acquire at each stage.
• Performance Reviews: Regular check-ins and formal feedback at the end of each rotation.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Aspire to have a successful career in Finance and Accounting
• Preferably in your final year of university or graduated in 2024, with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Maths, Engineering or a related field with strong numerical background
• You will have achieved at least a 2.1 rating
• Previous internships or job shadowing experiences in a similar field are preferred
