Job Description
Wood is recruiting for an Finance Lead to join our Operations team in Aberdeen on a 12 month fixed term contract. This position will require 3 days a week in our Head Office in Aberdeen and two days remote.
The Role
You will assist the Senior UK Finance Manager and UK Finance Business Partners in contract accounting activities including supporting reporting activities to ensure finance & operational leadership have access to reports and analysis they require for management decision making including both routine and ad-hoc analysis.
The successful applicant will c onsolidation of monthly UK Operations Service Line P&L results and Balance Sheet position. Reconciliation of monthly results to oracle ERP system and clear articulation of monthly / FY variance of actual versus budget/forecast.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring Key Balance Sheet accounts are fully reconciled monthly in line with internal deadlines and uploaded into EPM planning, key accounts include Unbilled, Unearned, Accounts Receivables, Retention, Accruals & Receivables Financing
- Review, challenge and support governance of Overheads for Service Line, analysing actuals to budget/forecast and providing robust commentary
- Consolidation and analysis of Cash receipt reporting, actuals versus forecast and submission of 13 week lookahead cash forecast for service line, highlighting key risks & opportunities as well as tracking movements in cash receipts and receivable financing balances. Validation of accuracy and reporting of trends
- Consolidation of annual budget, mid-year forecast and monthly rolling forecast, in line with timetable from base system entry level to EPM consolidation system with direct input from Finance Business Partners
- Work collaboratively and cohesively with the Finance Business Partners to
- Ensure an effective control environment exists within the Service Line including monitoring compliance in relation to approval of monthly journals & events, compliance with credit risk assessments, DOA and adherence to Group Accounting Policies
- Drive working capital improvements by providing meaningful reporting and insight to support Finance Business Partners
- Develop and roll out annual engagement plan
- Ensure annual objective frameworks are clear, understood and objectives are set and regularly reviewed within the team
- Support people development discussions and any administrative effort required
- Collation of information required for annual insurance submission
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across UK Operations service line
- Liaising with external and internal auditors to co-ordinate audit requests and ensure deadlines are adhered to within the Service Line

Expected
- Qualified or part qualified or qualified through relevant experience
- Extensive relevant experience in accounting / business
- Strong commercial awareness
- Competent at using ERP/ forecasting systems
- Proficient user of Excel, PowerPoint
- Highly organised and ability to prioritise tasks
- Must be able to plan to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Attention to detail is critical
- Proactive nature to seek out opportunities for improvement and deliver against these
