Our client is the UK and European distribution arm of a global leader in home furniture. The business delivers comfort and quality to millions worldwide.

Established in the last decade, the organisation is growing steadily and now seeks a Finance Manager to strengthen the finance function and support long-term strategic plans.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will oversee all financial operations across the UK and EU business, ensuring accurate reporting, robust cash management, effective budgeting, and strong compliance.

Working closely with the Managing Director and global finance stakeholders, you'll provide strategic insight, drive operational efficiency, and play a pivotal role in business planning.

This position suits a technically strong, hands-on accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys both the detail and the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control:

• Lead monthly management accounts preparation and reporting
• Manage the full month-end close and ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations and transaction processing
• Review company financial performance and provide data-driven recommendations
• Maintain and improve internal controls and financial governance

Planning, Strategy & Analysis

• Prepare annual budgets and support departmental forecasting
• Develop and monitor KPI reporting, including corrective action plans
• Work with the Managing Director to shape short- and long-term business strategy
• Maintain daily cashflow reporting and forecasting

Compliance & External Management

• Oversee statutory compliance and liaise with external accountants for accounts and tax
• Manage VAT compliance across UK/FR/DE
• Oversee payroll preparation, pensions, PAYE/NIC reporting
• Manage foreign currency purchases, sales, and forward contracts

Team Leadership & Systems

• Develop and mentor junior finance team members (assistant accountant, credit controller)
• Provide financial support to heads of department
• Manage ERP and business systems administration (NetSuite experience a plus)
• Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, IT partners, and service providers

Skills & Experience Required

• Fully qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA with 3+ years' PQE
• Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Xero, or similar
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
• Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
