Finance Manager

Location – Motherwell, ML1 1RU. (Hybrid working, based in the UK. With quarterly travel to Ireland 3-4 days.)

Some of the key responsibilities of the Finance Manager include:



  • Own the preparation of monthly Group reporting packs ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to Group deadlines.
  • Prepare and monitor rolling cash flow forecasts ensuring sufficient liquidity to support business operations and to support informed decision-making.
  • Responsibility for management of Group cash pooling arrangements and managing the payment process, including review, approval, and verification of transactions.
  • Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet through robust reconciliation processes and controls.
  • Assist with VAT compliance, including preparation and review of returns.
  • Own the intercompany payment process, including reconciliation and offsetting (contras) of balances.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Commercial teams, to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Lead and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance culture while supporting individual growth and career progression.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Finance-related queries for the Irish business and undertake additional Finance-related responsibilities as required.

  • Qualifications & Experience:



    • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
    • 5-7 years’ experience in a large scale operational environment. Experience in facilities management, real estate or a shared service centre environment would be advantageous
    • Proven experience delivering end-to-end monthly financial reporting in a large Group to tight Group deadlines
    • Strong cashflow forecasting and treasury management experience
    • Leadership experience with a track record of developing finance teams
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, ERP systems experience required, SAP in particular.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a reliable and experienced professional who is dependable, detail-oriented and can be trusted to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Confident in managing core finance processes with a strong technical foundation in finance and an ability to manage key processes efficiently.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with a “can do” attitude
  • Must hold valid UK driving license with access to personal vehicle.
  • Must hold a valid passport as the role will require some travel to Ireland.
