Finance Manager - £85-90k - Music - London (2 days a week)
The Opportunity
A private equity-backed global Music Media business, operating in over 100 countries, is seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Finance Manager to join its London-based head office. This is a high-impact role focused on financial reporting, statutory compliance, process improvement, and team leadership.
You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external advisors, while leading and developing a small team. It’s an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to step into a broader, leadership-driven role in a fast-paced and creative industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting.
- Maintain high standards in the classification and recording of accounting transactions.
- Deliver variance analysis and commentary on operational and non-operational spend.
- Review key balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, etc.).
- Own and review judgmental balance sheet provisions on a monthly basis.
- Oversee statutory reporting for multiple European entities.
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage local audits.
- Partner with external advisors on financial statements and tax compliance (e.g., VAT, corporation tax).
- Lead annual impairment reviews of investments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
- Manage and mentor a team of up to three finance professionals.
- Support the development and progression of junior team members.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Strong technical accounting background, with experience in statutory reporting and audits.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (ERP experience like Oracle is a plus).
- Well-organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communicator, able to work cross-functionally and explain finance to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused.
- Confident identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team preferred
