Finance Manager - £85-90k - Music - London (2 days a week)

The Opportunity

A private equity-backed global Music Media business, operating in over 100 countries, is seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Finance Manager to join its London-based head office. This is a high-impact role focused on financial reporting, statutory compliance, process improvement, and team leadership.

You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external advisors, while leading and developing a small team. It’s an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to step into a broader, leadership-driven role in a fast-paced and creative industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting.
  • Maintain high standards in the classification and recording of accounting transactions.
  • Deliver variance analysis and commentary on operational and non-operational spend.
  • Review key balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, etc.).
  • Own and review judgmental balance sheet provisions on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee statutory reporting for multiple European entities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage local audits.
  • Partner with external advisors on financial statements and tax compliance (e.g., VAT, corporation tax).
  • Lead annual impairment reviews of investments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of up to three finance professionals.
  • Support the development and progression of junior team members.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and supportive team environment.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong technical accounting background, with experience in statutory reporting and audits.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (ERP experience like Oracle is a plus).
  • Well-organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communicator, able to work cross-functionally and explain finance to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused.
  • Confident identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small team preferred

Why Apply?

  • Work in a global, fast-moving business at the intersection of music, media, and technology.
  • Step into a leadership role with broad exposure and room to grow.
  • Competitive salary and hybrid working (2 days in London office).
