About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑driven Dealership Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of an automotive dealership. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial decision‑making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Produce and analyse financial reports to support senior leadership.
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Oversee sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers.
Ensure accurate accounting for vehicle sales, parts, service income, and incentives.
Reconcile manufacturer statements and warranty claims.
Maintain compliance with FCA and accounting standards.
Improve internal controls and support cost‑management.

Work closely with Sales, Service, Parts, and finance team members.

Use and maintain DMS platforms such as Kerridge/CDK, Pinnacle, Keyloop, or Rev8.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Excel and dealership systems.
Highly organised, with strong communication and cross‑department collaboration.
Able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced dealership environment.
Commercially aware with strong financial interpretation skills.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience as a Dealership Accountant or Assistant Accountant (motor trade highly desirable).
Essential experience as a Management or Assistant Management Accountant.
Knowledge of automotive accounting processes, VAT, and manufacturer bonus structures.
AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications desirable.
Experience managing or supporting a finance team.
