As we grow our presence and community, we're looking for a Finance Manager who is ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our business.
About the Role:
This is a brand-new role, offering a rare opportunity to design and lead a finance function from the ground up. Working closely with colleagues at the University of Nottingham, you'll take ownership of everything from day-to-day finance operations to strategic planning and process development.
What you'll be doing:
- Establish finance systems, policies and controls aligned with university and statutory requirements.
- Deliver and oversee all core accounting functions, including month-end and year-end processes.
- Produce management accounts, board and shareholder reports, and support VAT and payroll processes.
- Lead budget preparation, cashflow forecasting and financial performance monitoring.
- Collaborate across teams to support sustainable business growth.
About You:
- AAT qualified or equivalent experience (CIMA, ACCA, ACA desirable).
- Proficiency in financial systems, Excel, and business tools.
- Strong experience in management accounting, controls, and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in property, higher education, or charity-subsidiary contexts is a plus.
