Our finance team has been strengthened in recent years and maintains a strong reputation within the firm, and we are now seeking to further develop the function and enhance proactive engagement with key stakeholders, including the Executive Committee (ExCo) and the Board.
This role presents an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to serve as a key business partner to all Heads of Department while demonstrating the drive and ambition to grow within the organization.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will coordinate all financial and management accounting for the Group Finance team, providing strategic leadership and direction on internal financial and commercial matters while supporting the Head of Group Finance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to comprehensive financial and management accounting for the Company
- Ensuring smooth operation of all financial systems and processes
- Leading monthly oversight of management accounts across all global entities, including timely close processes and variance analysis
- Providing accurate and timely information on the Company's financial status and performance
- Managing budgetary responsibilities for the Company, with primary focus on IT/business systems
Strategic Leadership and Direction
- Identify opportunities for significant cost reduction/rationalization and drive implementation
- Advise on strategic projects focusing on costs, affordability, and value
- Implement scalable processes through automation and software leverage
- Foster a culture of 'value for money' and 'cost consciousness' across all corporate functions
- Represent the finance team proactively to key stakeholders
Corporate Controls and Monthly Financial Oversight
- Oversee monthly management accounts preparation and review across all global entities
- Ensure timely monthly closes with comprehensive variance analysis and commentary
- Develop and maintain robust monthly reporting frameworks for executive decision-making
- Manage budgetary responsibility for support functions, particularly IT and business systems
- Provide granular, project-by-project reporting including fully-costed human resources
- Coordinate budgeting and monitoring across business areas and legal entities
- Negotiate and control legal and professional fees in collaboration with function heads
Functional Management
- Direct and manage the Group Finance team to deliver highest service standards
- Support the Head of Group Finance on strategic projects and daily responsibilities
- Deputize for the Head of Group Finance when required
- Develop divisional P&Ls and present costs by product line
Corporate Accounts and Analysis
- Proactively manage monthly management account cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Provide financial reviews, forecasts, and cost-benefit analysis for capital investment decisions
- Support strategic decision-making through comprehensive financial information
- Manage budgeting, cost monitoring, and reporting processes
- Oversee treasury, FX, tax planning, and reporting at company level
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified chartered accountant or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years' post qualification experience, preferably in financial services
- Line management experience across functions
- Proven track record in implementing systems and processes for strategic decision-making
- Strong experience in monthly management accounts preparation and oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cross-functional experience with systems development understanding
- Experience in both blue-chip firms and entrepreneurial organizations
- Strong understanding of medium-sized business financial and operational drivers
