We are currently developing a flagship resort in Manchester, scheduled to open in 2028, and are in the process of building our local finance function to support the construction and pre-opening phases of the project.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Manchester-based team. This is a key supporting role within the finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations across two group entities, with a particular focus on accounts payable, VAT processing, and finance administration within a construction project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration of purchase ledgers across two entities, including invoice processing and approval workflows using Concur and Xero
• Preparation of VAT returns and collation of supporting documentation for submission
• Supporting fortnightly payment runs, funding requests, and bank detail verification
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviewing employee travel and expense claims to ensure policy compliance
• Managing supplier onboarding procedures and data maintenance
• General finance administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and post processing
• Supporting the implementation of improved finance processes
• Assisting with additional ad hoc financial tasks and project work as required

Skills & Experience

• Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
• Prior experience with Xero, SAP Concur, or similar platforms is advantageous (training provided if required)
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Proven ability to adapt within a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Previous experience in a construction finance or project accounting setting would be highly beneficial

Remuneration & Benefits

• Competitive salary up to £37,000 per annum

Working Environment
