Finance Project Manager

The Project Manager (Finance) will be leading the setup of a brand-new finance function. Here's a breakdown of what this person will be doing day-to-day:

🔧 Core Responsibilities

1. Standing Up the Finance Function

• Designing and overseeing the implementation of all necessary financial processes, systems, controls, and reporting mechanisms for the JV.
• Ensuring the finance function is compliant with regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions

2. Project Planning & Execution

• Creating and managing detailed project plans with timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
• Coordinating work across internal teams (e.g., Finance, IT, Legal) and external vendors (e.g., systems providers, consultants).

3. Stakeholder Management

• Acting as the key liaison between the programme team, finance leadership, and external partners.
• Providing regular updates to senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and decisions needed.
• Aligning project outputs with strategic business objectives.

4. Risk and Issue Management

• Identifying project risks early and developing mitigation plans.
• Troubleshooting issues that arise during the finance function build and ensuring continuity.

5. Budget Management

• Developing and overseeing project budgets, ensuring the finance function is set up efficiently and within cost constraints.

• Monitoring progress using project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Supporting integration with other business functions (HR, Ops, IT, Compliance).
• Ensuring quality of project deliverables and readiness for go-live.
• Working flexibly with colleagues in different time zones (especially the US).
• Occasionally being hands-on in the London office to support office set-up and team coordination.
