Finance System Analyst

Contract: Permanent
Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns. Please let us know in your application your desired working pattern.
Salary: Up to £60,000
Reporting to: Financial Controller
London docklands and an office
Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
As a key part of our new Finance team, you will oversee and enhance our Finance systems, with a focus on Workday Financials. Your expertise will support system administration, configuration and small change management, working closely with IT and third-party partners to deliver impactful improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and responding to small change tickets raised via our ticketing system Hornbill
- Delivering a backlog of small change items within Workday and other finance systems
- Conducting system testing and validation to ensure changes have been made appropriately
- Ensuring our billing process is run on time and an adequate control framework exists
- Monitoring and reporting on process efficiency and data quality
- Developing and maintaining system documentation, including process flows, configuration guides, and user manuals
- Assist in the development and execution of financial systems projects
- Collaborating with finance SMEs to understand their needs and challenges
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for Workday Financials users
- Supporting the Finance Systems Product Owner in contributing to the evaluation of all requests for change, deployment plans, coordination of training, and other necessary support.
- Participating in multi-functional efforts to build aligned and standardised business solutions.
- Working with the business information team to build, develop, and maintain repeatable, accurate, and credible metrics, dashboards, and reports in line with internal Data Governance.
- Improving Workday Financials and our other systems through user research and data analysis
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
Minimum Criteria
- Understanding and experience of financial processes and systems (especially Workday Financials)
- Proven experience managing technical improvements within Workday, including planning, testing and implementation
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, experience using Excel/SQL to structure and manipulate datasets and troubleshoot system issues
- Experience working with IT and third parties to instigate system change
Desirable Criteria
We would also like you to have the following skills:
- Ability to communicate complex technical information across a range of stakeholders, in a way in which they understand
- Capability to work with colleagues collaboratively and effectively ensuring change is delivered in a joined-up way considering the end to end process
- Skilled in report writing tools within Workday and building reliable dashboards
