Job Description
The Service & Team:
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for a role within the Technical and Compliance team, which sits within Finance. This is a dynamic team that think through accounting queries and abide by the statutory deadlines. We offer flexible working where you will be expected to work some days in the office (Truro) but will also have the opportunity to work from home.
The Role
Be part of a team that , , .
- delivers the Annual Statutory Account for a large complex Unitary Council
- assists the external auditors in obtaining the audit evidence to deliver a successful audit
- maintain the Chart of Accounts
- offer advice to fellow finance staff in respect of accounting treatment and coding
- keep the Council's lease information updated
- assist the team on a day to day basis
Working Pattern
This is a full-time (37 hours per week), permanent position. You will receive on the job training and mentoring, as well as opportunities for further development and progression within the Council. What You’ll Need To Succeed
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Have a finance background, and be part CCAB or with demonstrable accounting experience
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to plan and organise you work, and manage your time effectively
- Respond constructively to change, and can be flexible and adapt to the needs of the team
- A proactive and can do attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative
