We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a fixed term contract until the end of December 2025.
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting process. You will be responsible for reconciling and substantiating designated balance sheet accounts, in line with group accounting policies and timelines. You will be an integral part of the timely completion of month-end and year-end reporting, statutory financial statements, and tax and VAT submissions.
This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and involves close collaboration with both the local team in Milton Keynes and outsourced operations in Lithuania and Sri Lanka.
As The Financial Accountant, Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Assisting with the Month end process
- Preparing and posting duly authorised journals.
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and adjusting reconciling items.
- Ensuring assets and liabilities are accounted for correctly and fully substantiated.
- Year end process
- Financial statements
- Tax and VAT
Your Key Skills And Experience Will Include
- Part or Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Transactional Financial Accounting Experience.
- Previous experience of preparing balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, group reporting and VAT returns.
- Accounting for accruals and prepayments.
- Effective communicator, with a proactive mindset, to continuously improve.
- Able to work unsupervised and deliver to an agreed timetable.
- Experienced in SAP, S4HANA, HFM.
- Technical skills: A deep understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency with accounting software and information systems, and the ability to prepare financial documents.
- Soft skills: Strong communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, organisation, attention to detail, time management, and teamwork.
- Personal qualities: A strong work ethic, integrity, and a sense of accountability.
- Commercial and analytical skills: The ability to review and interrogate financial information.
- Collaboration tools: The ability to use collaboration tools to share documents, communicate, and collaborate on projects.
