Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant – International Education - £55k to £60k per annum (2 days a week in Central London)

My client is a well established International Education company that have a vibrant and energetic culture and are looking for a an individual who wants to add value. This role suits someone who would enjoy the challenge of being involved in making system-driven improvements and being part of a collaborative finance team.

As a Financial Accountant you will have key responsibilities in the month-end accounting process, working closely with the rest of the financial accounting team, to close the books in accordance with our agreed timetable and to perform well documented balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis.

Summary of the role

• Conducting monthly reconciliations for critical balance sheet accounts
• Preparing intercompany invoices, managing FX transactions, and validating balances ahead of period-end close
• Coordinating intercompany activities and recharges, including payroll distributions and IT initiatives run for the Group
• Preparing and aligning VAT, and other occasional tax submissions
• Managing accounting entries and reconciliations related to student insurance and eBook consumption
• Contributing to the month-end process through journal entries, financial reports, and account reviews
• Upholding internal financial controls within designated responsibilities
• Providing audit support by gathering and delivering required documentation to both internal and external auditors

Your background

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Possess solid technical accounting expertise, with hands-on experience in complex areas such as consolidated group reporting or navigating multiple accounting standards
• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to critically assess your own work and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
