Financial Accountant : Energy
Partnering with a growing business to bring on a Financial Accountant, to support with delivery of project objectives.
- Salary: £50,000 to £55,000
- Location: London
- Hybrid: 3 days in and 2 from home
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of the fixed asset register.
- Maintain and control the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate, timely capitalisation in line with IFRS.
- Produce timely, accurate reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Oversee depreciation calculations.
- Support lease accounting under IFRS 16, including right-of-use asset tracking and depreciation.
- Collaborate with project teams, asset managers, tax specialists, and finance stakeholders on cost allocation.
Reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and statutory financial statements.
- Respond to audit queries and support external and internal audit processes.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and group consolidation reports.
- Provide technical accounting input to ensure compliance with audit standards.
- Support ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
Skills and Attributes:
- Must be Finalist ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Proven experience in fixed asset accounting.
- Proficiency with financial systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and accountable.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to identify key issues, source necessary information, and deliver against expectations.
