Financial Accountant - Interim

Responsibilities:
- Process and validate bordereaux reports received from cover holders, brokers, and third-party administrators.
- Reconcile premium and claims data against financial systems and policy administration platforms.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
- Maintain and update bordereaux templates and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Assist in the automation and streamlining of bordereaux processing using Excel, accounting software, or bespoke systems.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate bordereaux documentation and reconciliations.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies or anomalies in data and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines and requirements.
- Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure correct treatment of input and output VAT.
- Provide VAT advice to internal departments on transactions, contracts, and new business initiatives.
- Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities as needed
Personal Profile
- Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
- Previous experience in bordereaux accounting, VAT calculations and preparation of financial statement
- Experience in the insurance industry - essential
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s market practices and regulatory requirements is a plus.
