About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Financial Accountant to oversee the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash and treasury management, compliance with tax regulations, and smooth month-end and year-end processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards
Produce statutory accounts and liaise with auditors

Treasury & Cash Management

Monitor and manage cash flow, bank accounts, and liquidity
Oversee treasury operations
Assist with funding requirements, bank relationships, and cash forecasting

Tax & Compliance

Ensure corporation tax, VAT, and payroll-related taxes are accurately calculated and submitted

Support tax planning and compliance with HMRC requirements

Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal controls

Business Support & Analysis

Provide financial insight to support management decision-making
Highlight risks and opportunities to the CFO / leadership team

Key Requirements

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience
Strong experience in financial accounting, reporting, and month-end processes
Experience with treasury / cash management and working with banks
Knowledge of UK tax regulations including corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
