What is the role?
In this exciting opportunity, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and performance of Howden's International Growth Markets (IGM), which include the Middle East & Africa, India, and Latin America. From managing monthly accounts to supporting strategic forecasting and transformation initiatives, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality financial reporting and insights. This role offers a unique chance to work closely with the Divisional CFO and collaborate with finance teams across multiple regions.
Please note that this is a full-time, permanent role based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, you are expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week on average.
What will you be doing?
Financial Reporting & Control
Facilitate accurate and timely completion of monthly management reporting across Howden IGM entities, including but not limited to:
Completion of all financial reporting system (OneStream) workflows.
Ensuring timely alignment of intercompany balances.
Balance sheet reconciliations in line with policy.
Quarterly Howden Group lender attestations, working closely with regional teams and FP&A to complete analytical reviews.
Coordinating and validating deferred consideration and contingent consideration valuations.
Ensure adherence to Group Accounting and Reporting policies
Business Partnering & Collaboration
Central point of contact for any statutory finance / reporting related matters across the division, with the expectation that you will support the Divisional Leadership team with adhoc requests from time to time.
Collaborate with local regional and/or country controllers and Group accountants to resolve intercompany discrepancies.
Build strong working relationships with the Divisional Leadership Group, Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, and Legal & Compliance teams.
Liquidity management:
Monitor cash positions across division and forecast short- and long-term cash requirements, along with cash upstreaming targets.
Support local teams, as well as Group treasury operations and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
Taxation:
Liaise with the tax team to support the development and implementation of the Howden tax strategy.
Ensuring accurate tax calculations and reporting within OneStream.
Finance Transformation & Operations:
Identification of tactical and strategic priorities to improve the effectiveness and efficient delivery of finance. This will include mitigations of operational risk in terms of people, processes and platforms.
Support of delivery of process and system change within Finance.
Support of Group wide strategic initiatives.
Support development of central processes in line with strategic direction.
Documentation of processes and procedures.
Liaison to UK Central functions in Finance, Tax, Legal.
What are we looking for?
Key Competencies
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, UK Gaap).
Highly skilled in data manipulation, analysis and reporting.
Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) is beneficial.
Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team, with the ability to identify and lead on new initiatives when necessary.
Unit4 and OneStream knowledge advantageous.
Spanish language proficiency to support collaboration with LATAM region.
Professional Qualifications
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
Post-qualification experience in industry preferred.
Strong academic background.
