About The Role
Following the recent expansion of the Group finance department, we are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Group FP&A team. Reporting to the Group Director of FP&A and Procurement, you'll contribute to analysing financial performance, offer analytical insights, and assist decision-making throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Support the preparation and analysis of financial data integral to the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and business performance reports.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of specific areas within the budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare insightful financial and operational reports, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
Financial Modelling
- Support the development and maintenance of financial models to forecast future business growth and evaluate strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and inputs that will be used to conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
Business Partnering
- Work closely with the Head of FP&A, Senior Finance Business Partners, and key stakeholders across the wider business to understand business objectives and provide financial support and guidance.
- Assist in evaluating new business initiatives, investments, and strategic projects through financial analysis and scenario modelling.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities, identifying areas for efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, presentations, and special projects as required.
Financial / Operational Reporting
- Support in the preparation of monthly reporting, providing insightful information to management regarding financial and operational KPI data, analysing business trends and performance.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Part-qualified candidate currently pursuing professional finance qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Prior experience within a Financial Analysis role and Financial Services is desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modelling techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
