Financial and Regulatory Accountant in our office in London


As a Financial Control and Regulation Manager you will be supporting in the preparation and oversight of regulatory returns (including daily CASS and IFPR monitoring), statutory accounts, and management reporting and analysis for several Group entities. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Equiti remains fully compliant with FCA and other regulatory obligations, while maintaining strong financial integrity and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting & Monitoring

  • Prepare and monitor daily CASS (Client Asset Sourcebook) reconciliations, ensuring full compliance with FCA rules.
  • Perform daily IFPR (Investment Firms Prudential Regime) capital and liquidity calculations, including K-factor assessments and capital adequacy monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and timely internal regulatory dashboards, highlighting key metrics to senior management.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual FCA regulatory returns including:
  • Support the annual external CASS audit and internal control reviews.
  • Liaise with Compliance, Risk and Trading Operations to address any regulatory issues or breaches proactively.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.
  • Support the year-end statutory accounts process.
  • Assist with the annual external audit, including preparation of working papers and liaising with auditors.
  • Ensure all journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations are performed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances and group transactions.
  • Support the preparation of entity budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns including VAT and corporation tax.


Cash & Treasury Management

  • Support daily cash and liquidity management, including reconciliation of bank and broker accounts.
  • Review and approval of weekly payment runs.
  • Ensure accurate classification of client money vs firm money and appropriate safeguarding.
  • Assist with FX exposure reporting and related hedging activities.


Process Improvement & Projects

  • Support implementation and improvement of internal controls and finance systems.
  • Assist in finance transformation projects or regulatory change implementations.
  • Develop and document key processes and internal procedures.

Experience Requirements

  • Part/Fully Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Experience working with SAP is desired although not mandatory.
  • Experience of financial operations in a multi-currency environment.
  • Financial services experience, ideally in a brokerage, is desired although not mandatory
  • Solid accounting Knowledge
  • Experience with CASS and MifidPru framework
