Financial Controller

Henderson Scott Finance and Accounting have partnered with a with a SME Manufacturing business to hire a high calibre and technically astute Financial Controller to join their client in Greater Manchester. This company has restructured their finance team to allow an ambitious professional to join the business and be a strong number two to the CFO.

We are hiring a qualified candidate who has experience within manufacturing and ideally several years of post-qualified experience. You'll manage a small team providing support on month end duties, whilst also implementing key commercial processes in parallel with the CFO.

You'll have ample opportunity to grow alongside the business and take on more responsibility as you progress with the role to a FD. Supported by an exceptional manager who will be your mentor throughout.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic approach working alongside with the CFO
• Increasing profitability by implementing new controls
• Prepare and present statutory accounts
• Manage a small finance function operationally
• Implement key process improvements
• Transform the finance function through novel ideas
• Provide sound commercial input to drive growth within the business
• Partner with key (non)-finance stakeholders within the business
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Business partnering

Person:

• Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Commercially minded and ideas for business growth
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
• Keen to develop their career
