About the Role

A global financial services organisation is seeking a Financial Controller to join its London-based finance function. This is a broad, hands-on role offering exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, operational accounting and process improvement across a multi-entity, regulated environment.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and high-quality financial reporting, while supporting the ongoing development of robust controls, efficient processes and best practice across the finance function. This role is well suited to a newly qualified accountant looking to build depth in financial control within a complex organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

• Support month-end close activities, including preparation and posting of journals across multiple legal entities and group consolidation
• Produce management accounts and support statutory financial reporting requirements
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and act as a key contact during interim and year-end audits

Controls & Process Improvement

• Support the design, maintenance and enhancement of financial controls and reporting processes
• Maintain and improve finance policies, procedures and documentation
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, quality and timeliness of reporting

Operational Accounting

• Prepare bank reconciliations and related general ledger postings
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with ownership frameworks
• Manage intercompany accounting activities, including invoicing, clearing and settlement
• Perform P&L analysis and support performance reporting for subsidiary entities

Regulatory, Tax & Compliance Support

• Assist with regulatory and statistical reporting across multiple jurisdictions
• Support tax-related activities including VAT and sales tax returns, working with external advisors as required

Skills & Experience

• Experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts and management accounting

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 2-3 years in industry working for a similar high level financial services business.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
