JSS is partnered with a growing fintech where they are looking for hands-on Financial Controller to manage core finance operations, with a particular focus on month-end close, financial controls, and reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to step into their first financial controlling position in an autonomous and fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls across the business.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial data.
• Manage and review bordereaux data submissions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of premium and claims information, and reconciling against financial records and underwriting systems.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles in collaboration with FP&A.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAS, CAANZ) with 2–5 years PQE.
• Strong experience in month-end close and financial controls.
• Insurance industry experience (preferably MGA or Lloyd’s market) desirable.
• FinTech experience within a series A/B environment desirable.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. With the ability to improve reporting times and controls.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
• Experience working with auditors and managing audit processes.
