Financial Controller - SME Business, Watford, Hertfordshire

JSS are delighted to be partnering a private equity backed SME, based in Watford, recruiting a newly created Financial Controller position. This role will be responsible for controllership across the business; managing month end and year end and owning and developing the integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow modelling for the company. This is an ideal role for an experienced Financial Controller who wants a varied role, exposure to private equity and a route to Finance Director in an SME business.

The Role:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:

• Managing the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and deliver by WD5

• Developing and maintaining financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis i.e. integrated P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet

• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory filings.

• Overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts produced by our auditors, taking accountability for their accuracy.

• Lead the audit process, addressing queries in a timely manner

• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

Profile:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who can work in a fast paced environment with the following experience and skillset:

-ACA or ACCA qualified

-Controllership experience of month end & year end, balance sheet, financial statements, audit

-Good Excel Modelling & PowerPoint ability to present financial information

-Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

On Offer:

This Financial Controller role offers a salary of circa £75,000-£85,000, plus 10% bonus, benefits, hybrid working 3/4 days in the office and a route to Finance Director and exposure to Private Equity.
