Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Overview

On behalf of a long-standing, multinational plc client with an extensive EMEA footprint, we are currently retained to identify a commercially astute and technically strong Financial Controller to join their high-performing finance function. This is a pivotal role overseeing core financial operations, reporting, and control across a complex, multi-site environment. You’ll be based in Bedfordshire two days per week, with the remainder hybrid/flexible.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader seeking to drive both financial discipline and change within a globally recognised organisation.

You’ll be involved in:

• The Financial Controller will lead a team of 8 professionals across:
• Financial accounting and group reporting
• Management reporting and commercial insight
• Internal controls and compliance
• Strategic finance projects and systems improvements
• This is a broad leadership role requiring a balance of technical excellence, strong team management, and stakeholder engagement across finance, operations, and shared service functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles in line with IFRS and group requirements
• Oversee the consolidation and review of EMEA regional accounts
• Develop and enhance internal controls and financial governance frameworks
• Deliver accurate and insightful management reporting to support commercial decision-making
• Drive improvements in reporting tools, financial processes, and systems
• Partner with FP&A, tax, treasury, and operational finance teams across multiple jurisdictions
• Coach and develop a high-performing team of qualified and part-qualified accountants
• Support ad hoc projects including M&A integration, ERP upgrades, and restructuring initiatives

Candidate Background:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Proven experience in a financial leadership role within a large, matrixed organisation
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS essential)
• Demonstrable experience managing teams in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
