Financial Controller

NSCG is partnering with a dynamic and growing general insurance group to appoint a Financial Controller who will lead the financial control framework across the Group. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned finance leader who thrives in a regulated environment and is passionate about driving financial excellence, governance, and transformation.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you’ll work closely with the Group CFO to lead the Finance function, ensuring robust financial operations, insightful reporting, and full regulatory compliance. You’ll be responsible for statutory and management reporting, financial planning, treasury, and systems transformation, playing a key role in shaping the financial future of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial control, reporting, and compliance across all Group entities.
• Oversee statutory accounts, regulatory returns (FCA, PRA, Solvency II), and audit processes.
• Drive strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Champion automation and systems integration to enhance scalability and insight.
• Lead treasury and investment governance activities.
• Develop a high-performing finance team and foster cross-functional collaboration.

What We’re Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS).
• Proven leadership in financial control, reporting, and regulatory compliance within financial services or insurance.
• Experience producing Board-level reports and managing audits.
• Skilled in financial modelling, ERP systems, and reporting tools.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
