Financial Controller / Finance Manager (Part-Time, 3–4 days/week)

📍 Remote initially, hybrid near Nottingham

💰 £60,000 – £70,000 FTE (pro rata)

About the Company

A fast-growing international consumer brand is seeking its first senior in-house finance hire to help build a best-in-class finance function. The business operates in the direct-to-consumer (DTC) space, has scaled rapidly in just three years, and is preparing for its next phase of international growth and expansion.

The Role

This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who wants to combine technical finance with commercial impact. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations while also driving longer-term projects such as ERP implementation and the company’s first audit. Working closely with the leadership team, you’ll design and embed the processes, controls, and reporting needed to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all finance operations, including month-end close, group consolidations, and reporting.
Manage statutory accounts and coordinate the annual audit.
Oversee treasury and cash flow forecasting to safeguard financial health.
Strengthen financial controls, including supplier payments and 3-way matching.
Ensure compliance with complex U.S. sales tax and international tax obligations.
Partner with senior leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Manage outsourced finance teams in the UK and U.S.
Support ERP implementation (likely NetSuite).

About You

ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills.
Experience working with or auditing U.S. entities; knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
Background in financial control for fast-growing, multi-entity, or international businesses.
Comfortable with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite) and implementations.
Commercially minded, pragmatic, and confident in a founder-led scale-up.
Strong communicator, able to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
