Description

Rix Capital Limited is a dynamic London-based single-family office founded by two prominent tech entrepreneurs. While lean in structure, the team aims for institutional standards across a diverse investment strategy as well as a focus on philanthropy.

We are seeking a Financial Controller to support the Finance Director in overseeing the financial management, reporting, and treasury operations of the firm. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a lean environment and wants to contribute to building and refining high-quality finance processes.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial operations and reporting across a globally diversified investment portfolio, as well as supporting the family office’s operational and philanthropic activities.

Responsibilities:

Support all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and treasury management.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, management reports, and performance summaries across portfolio entities.
Oversee daily transaction processing, payments, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.

Assist with FP&A functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making and cost management.

Maintain accounting records and internal controls in compliance with relevant standards and policies.

Liaise with external auditors, tax, and legal advisors to support filings and compliance requirements.

Monitor investment and operational expenses, ensuring timely reporting and accuracy.

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.

Help coordinate reporting for principals and external advisors, ensuring precision and confidentiality.

Contribute to the development of scalable finance processes to support growth.

Requirements:

Circa 5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or audit, ideally within investment management, family offices, or similar environments.
University degree in finance/accounting or relevant technical field; plus Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Strong technical understanding of IFRS fundamentals, complex instruments, valuation methodologies, and investment reporting.

Excellent analytical, advanced financial modelling and Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.

Hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset, with superior organisational and problem-solving aptitude.

Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment.

High integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Experience in investment reporting spanning public and private asset classes is a strong plus.

This is an office-based role in the St James’s area, London.
