We are partnering with a highly successful, PE-backed information and data services business that is seeking a Financial Controller.

Following a period of strong organic growth and a transformative acquisition that has doubled the size of the business and significantly expanded its US presence, this is a rare opportunity to lead and shape the finance function in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

As the Financial Controller, you will lead and manage end-to-end financial reporting, treasury, investor reporting, transactional finance, and financial systems, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting strategic initiatives and process improvements across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month-end reporting packs, liaising with Business Partnering teams on queries.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong internal controls.
• Prepare and post accruals, journal entries, and support reconciliations during month-end close.
• Lead lender and SFA reporting processes, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning.
• Ensure treasury compliance, effective cash management, and implement FX strategies and treasury processes.
• Implement, maintain, and improve financial IT systems, driving automation and integration with business systems (ERP, PO, Concur, Goodwings, Salesforce).
• Act as main contact for investor reporting, managing monthly and quarterly PE house cycles and ad hoc requests.
• Oversee global transactional finance operations (AP, AR, Cash Allocation), managing service delivery through offshore BPO partners and monitoring SLAs.
• Support strategic initiatives and special projects, including finance system implementation, financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development.

Required Experience

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE; excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles (IFRS/UK GAAP) with experience in treasury operations, financial systems administration, and ERP platforms.
• Skilled in reconciliations, month-end close, reporting, and applying financial controls and compliance requirements.
• Proven track record in process improvement, automation, and implementing/enhancing financial controls and risk mitigation.
• Comfortable working in audit-heavy environments with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and control.
• Experience managing and developing transactional finance teams, liaising with internal departments (FP&A, procurement, treasury), and working with shared service centres or outsourced functions.
• Analytical problem-solver with ability to identify root causes of transactional issues, work with large datasets, and use tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau; continuous improvement mindset.
• Highly detail-oriented, accountable, resilient under pressure, and able to manage competing priorities with strong organisational and time management skills; adaptable in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in financial and treasury operations, including outsourced environments; proficient with ERP and reporting tools.
