Overview:

Stanton House is partnering with a prominent, London-based building & services business to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a key opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, overseeing financial operations, driving reporting and controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across a well-established and evolving business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day transactional finance and lead the Finance/Accounting team.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and risk assessment.
• Maintain visibility of the company’s financial position and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Support the implementation and management of the finance IT system.
• Consolidate accounts and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Manage internal controls, audits, and statutory compliance.
• Lead finance projects, including payroll and benefits reviews.
• Provide financial insights to the executive team.
• Manage a team of 4 direct reports

Candidate Profile:

• Experienced Financial Controller with senior-level finance leadership.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting, analytical, and strategic skills.
• Effective leader with excellent communication abilities.
• Proficient in Excel; Dynamics 365 experience beneficial.
• Commercially astute with solid knowledge of financial regulations.
• Industry experience in building and services preferred.
• Previous people management experience
