Financial Controller | Surrey (Hybrid) | Up to £85,000 + Bonus, pension and other benefits

I’m partnering on a retained basis with a PE-backed, high-growth organisation to appoint a Financial Controller to a newly defined leadership role within their finance function.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end controllership position with full ownership of reporting, controls, and cash flow, while leading a small team through a period of operational change and improvement. The business is entering its next phase of growth and requires a technically strong, proactive finance leader to build robust processes and deliver accurate, board-level reporting.

The role will include:

Full responsibility for statutory reporting, month/year-end, and audit
Ownership of board packs, management reporting, and financial commentary
Cashflow, banking, working capital, and compliance oversight
Leadership and development of a small finance team
Driving improvements across systems, controls, and reporting processes
Playing a key role in shaping a scalable finance function

This is a delivery-focused role: you will be close to the numbers, comfortable posting journals, fixing issues, and building reliable reporting from the ground up. It suits someone who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and enjoys taking real ownership.

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with strong post-qualification experience
Background in hands-on financial control within growing or investor-backed businesses
High attention to detail, strong communication, and a proactive mindset
