Due to business requirements, we are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Financial Crime Compliance Advisor to provide regulatory advisory support to the business areas & other support functions within the Bank.
- Please note that this is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis & investigate referrals & provide recommendations to the MLRO/Deputy MLRO.
- Support the MLRO and DLMRO by providing an effective advisory service in relation to financial crime, including on adverse media and trade finance escalations.
- Manage the daily query workflow to the central mailbox, specifically in relation to financial crime, responding to the enquiring department with quality advice.
- Provide Level 3 reviews on EASTNET AML and Sanctions alerts.
- Review ‘Dual Use Goods’ (DUG) alerts generated in TradyStream to determine DUG plausibility and provide closure rationale.
- Review internal SARs and investigate suspicious activity.
- Provide specialist support to Financial Crime investigations.
- Review and respond to AML Questionnaires received from correspondent banks/vendors.
- Manage blocked accounts & ensure appropriate authorisation is obtained for operation.
- Provide support with updating the Financial Crime policies & procedures.
- Assist the MLRO/DMLRO in the preparation & delivery of training material on financial crime risk & controls.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience working in Financial Crime within Financial Services or Banking.
- Strong experience in Compliance with an excellent understanding of current best practice.
- Strong experience within Financial Crime with a good knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience with Trade Finance Compliance.
- A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework associated with financial services and experience working within FCA and PRA Handbook.
- Knowledge & experience within Africa-related Financial Institutions would be advantageous, however not essential.
- Strong skills in policy & procedure writing would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent investigative & analytical skills with the ability to provide clear rationale for recommendations.
- Strong relationship building/management skills, both internally & externally.
