Role Overview

As Finance Director, you will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and board, taking ownership of the finance function while playing an active role in driving performance and shaping the wider business strategy. You’ll be instrumental in preparing the company for a successful sale or capital event, working closely with investors and external advisors to ensure the business is well positioned and well presented.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across all areas – including financial control, FP&A, cash management, and investor reporting.
• Provide commercial and strategic input to the board and private equity sponsors, helping to drive value creation.
• Own and enhance the financial operating model – ensuring the right data, processes, and systems are in place to support scale.
• Oversee the planning and execution of a future exit, including due diligence readiness, financial modelling, and investor materials.
• Play a hands-on role in M&A activity, including deal appraisal, execution support and post-deal integration.
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team with a culture of rigour, collaboration, and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, tax and audit obligations.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced finance leader with a track record of operating at a senior level in a PE-backed business.
• Strong understanding of what it takes to deliver a successful exit – whether via trade sale, secondary buyout or IPO.
• Background in financial services or a similarly regulated, fast-paced environment preferred.
• Commercially sharp, with the ability to challenge, influence, and act as a true business partner.
• Comfortable being hands-on, especially in a high-growth, lean environment.
